DESCRIPTION:Join Trees for Guelph and the City of Guelph for the final community tree planting of 2025. \nRain or shine \nNo experience needed \nAll ages will find this fun! \nBring a friend or your whole family. Drop by for as long as you can. Plant one tree or plant more. \nPlanting demonstrations run continuously throughout the planting sessions so come for as little or as long as you can. Learn all the techniques to plant for high survival rates. \nWe will have all the plants\, shovels\, buckets\, water and mulch. \nWe recommend dressing in layers with sturdy footwear\, long pants and high socks. Remember there is no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothing Please bring your own large refillable water bottle and garden gloves if you dislike the feeling of a little soil under your finger nails. \nHigh school students looking for volunteer hours are invited to bring their log sheet to any Saturday plant. Check in at the registration table. \n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Hanlon Creek Forest South - Community Planting Day
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin Trees for Guelph\, the Rotary Club of Guelph and the City of Guelph for year four at the Hanlon Creek Forest South. Plants\, shovels\, buckets\, water and mulch are provided. \nThis 4.2 hectare site at 213 Clair Rd W will form a critical but fragile link between two large important natural areas. \nCome for an hour or stay the whole time. Bring your friends and family. This is an all ages no experience required event. Volunteers start with a short planting demonstration to ensure all the plants have a great start. \nDress in layers with sturdy footwear\, socks and long pants. There is no bad weather\, just the wrong clothing. Don’t forget sun protection and gloves\, if you don’t like soil under your nails\, \nBring your refillable water bottle and a snack. \nHigh school students can earn volunteer hours by bringing a log sheet to record the hours. \nThe City of Guelph’s Water Wagon will be there. Snacks or meals can be purchased at the food truck. \n  \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:For the third community planting day\, join Trees for Guelph at Hanlon Creek Park. We will be planting native trees\, shrubs and wildflowers grown from seeds collected in our area. Come celebrate the arrival of spring! \nThe site we will be planting is a short walk along the trail into the natural area. There will be signs to guide you to the planting location from the parking area at 505 Kortright Road West between Edinburgh and Scottsdale. \nWe will have shovels\, buckets and plants. The City of Guelph Natural Areas Stewardship crew will bring mulch and water. You bring your energy\, refillable water bottles\, your snacks and work gloves if you don’t like how the soil feels under your fingernails. \nDress in layers\, with sturdy footwear\, long pants and high socks. Please have a hat and sunscreen because our skin isn’t used to the strong spring sunshine. \nHigh school students: bring your log sheet and sign in at the welcome table to record your volunteer hours. \nNo previous experience is required. Fun for everyone. Many hands make light work. \n \nThis is our last community planting day this spring. See you in September \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
