National Forest Week Tree Planting at Grange Road Natural Area

Celebrate National Forest Week in Guelph by planting native trees and shrubs with the City of Guelph, CN Ecoconnexions and us, Trees for Guelph. Register on-site at the welcome table under the tent or RSVP via Facebook @treesforguelph
Grange Road Natural Area – Follow the trail from the parking lot off Grange Road, past the soccer field, back through the grove of poplar trees into the very back. It is just a short hike! The planting site is located in the northeast part of the natural area.
This is an all-ages-no-experience required rain or shine event. Bring your family and friends. Many hands make light work.
The plants, all the water they need, shovels, buckets and mulch will be provided.
Bring lots of water in your refillable bottle, a litterless snack for energy and gardening gloves if you don’t like the feeling of soil under your nails. We recommend sturdy footwear, a hat and dressing in layers. Remember – there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.
To ensure plants get the best start, demonstrations run continuously throughout the morning.
A special invitation goes out to high school students looking to earn volunteer hours. Please bring your log sheet to record your participation.
There is limited parking on site, so consider car pooling or biking.
There is a portable toilet near the parking lot.
