September 28th Community Planting at Norm Jary Park
September 28 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Join us from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM for a Community Planting. We plant rain or shine or (hopefully not) snow.
Register on site on the day at the welcome table or RSVP on our social media events page.
This is an all ages event. Bring a friend or your whole family. Drop by for as long as you can. Plant one tree or a lot. Planting demonstrations run continuously throughout the planting sessions so come for as little or as long as you can. Learn all the techniques to plant for high survival rates.
You may bring your favourite planting shovel. If you don’t have gear…DON’T WORRY, we have all the shovels and buckets you will need.
Please wear gardening gloves, sturdy footwear and layers of clothing that are comfortable to work and have fun in. We also recommend a hat, pants, long sleeves and high socks to protect from biting insects and too much sun. Please bring your own refillable water bottle. There will be a portable washroom on site.
High school students looking for volunteer hours are invited to bring their log sheet to any Saturday plant.
Without our partners and financial supporters all this exciting work would not happen. The City of Guelph’s support is fundamental to the success of TREES FOR GUELPH and we are a participant in the City’s Urban Forest Management initiative.
Thank you Modern Bride, Johnson & Johnson, Copernicus Education Products, TD Friends of the Environment, Royal City Brewing, Royal City Tree Service, Rotary Clubs of Guelph and Guelph South, Pollination Guelph, RWDI, Rona, Guelph Building Supply, Stantec, Grand River Conservation Authority, Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic District School Board have all played major roles in the continuing support of our programs.
