Hanlon Creek Forest South – Community Planting Day
Join Trees for Guelph, the Rotary C
lub of Guelph and the City of Guelph for year four at the Hanlon Creek Forest South. Plants, shovels, buckets, water and mulch are provided.
This 4.2 hectare site at 213 Clair Rd W will form a critical but fragile link between two large important natural areas.
Come for an hour or stay the whole time. Bring your friends and family. This is an all ages no experience required event. Volunteers start with a short planting demonstration to ensure all the plants have a great start.
Dress in layers with sturdy footwear, socks and long pants. There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothing. Don’t forget sun protection and gloves, if you don’t like soil under your nails,
Bring your refillable water bottle and a snack.
High school students can earn volunteer hours by bringing a log sheet to record the hours.
The City of Guelph’s Water Wagon will be there. Snacks or meals can be purchased at the food truck.
