Hanlon Creek – Community Planting Day
For the third community planting day, join Trees for Guelph at Hanlon Creek Park. We will be planting native trees, shrubs and wildflowers grown from seeds collected in our area. Come celebrate the arrival of spring!
The site we will be planting is a short walk along the trail into the natural area. There will be signs to guide you to the planting location from the parking area at 505 Kortright Road West between Edinburgh and Scottsdale.
We will have shovels, buckets and plants. The City of Guelph Natural Areas Stewardship crew will bring mulch and water. You bring your energy, refillable water bottles, your snacks and work gloves if you don’t like how the soil feels under your fingernails.
Dress in layers, with sturdy footwear, long pants and high socks. Please have a hat and sunscreen because our skin isn’t used to the strong spring sunshine.
High school students: bring your log sheet and sign in at the welcome table to record your volunteer hours.
No previous experience is required. Fun for everyone. Many hands make light work.

This is our last community planting day this spring. See you in September
